Summer denim

C and I got a pair of boyfriend... jeans that is. Hehe. We each splurged on a pair from Zara and are seriously excited with its outfit possibilities - with loose shirts or button downs or blazers or heels, etc. It's really about time boyfriend jeans arrived in stores - or perhaps I just missed it before. I've been wanting a pair since ... after searching blog archive... it's since this post. And yes my excitement is evidenced at the photo below - taken after we got back from the mall. Photos above are pre-mall.

Clutch

Totally not connected to the outfit: I just learned Before Midnight (Before Sunset's sequel) premiered in a film festival and reviews are good - glowing even! Fears allayed! I'm so so excited. May couldn't come sooner.

Update: I just found out J will be watching this movie tomorrow night at a Berlin film festival. Whuut?

Like PJs

Finally I have a pair of printed pajama-like pants. I’ve been looking for a while and never thought I’d find a good fit in Bayo. Actually the store has a knack of surprising me with pieces that fill the gaps of my wardrobe. It’s a rare occurrence, but when that certain pants or shirt or jacket appears, it’s just so right I don’t think twice to bring em to the cashier. Another example is this crop top. It’s the perfect length to pair with high waisted things. Plus the material is sort of suede-ish – what more can I ask? And in the danger of sounding like an ad, the flats are from Bayo too. Total coincidence.

R&R

Another long break. What's the reason this time? I have no photoshop! My old laptop crashed last December and I'm still in the process of collecting apps. Plus my new monitor has a blueish tint so I don't know what the pics actually look like. So from here on out if my photos are orange-y, you know the reason.

Anyway, these were taken by J last December during our trip to Camiguin. We stayed in the same resort that we went to 12 (13?) years ago. We barely recognized the place; it looked so chic and resort-y now. But one thing that stayed the same or as my fuzzy memory remembers it - the hammocks overlooking the beach. Slice of paradise.

798

Here’s a few snaps from the 798 art district in Beijing. We had a fantastic time exploring the huge complex filled with artist's studios, galleries, cozy shops, and outdoor cafes. The whole place is just so interesting looking. It’s vibrant, artsy, and quirky set in a rugged industrial compound. Sprinkle in some random art installations and we barely gave our cameras a break. And it’s not populated with throngs of crowds like other touristy places in Beijing. Definitely a plus.

Weekend uniform

Didn't realize how similar these 2 looks are until they're posted together. tank + layer + shorts. I guess it's all I ever wear on weekends since workdays are pants days. Meaning I only have once a week to show off my shorts/skirts/legs. And yes, there's a black version and a brown version of these sandals. I wouldn't know what to do if they're too worn down. Must rotate shoes.

Now I'm back from outer space

Longest blog break yet. Been a bit lazy taking outfit photos. Which is good because this is sort of narcissistic. But anyway, here I am again. And to start off, here's a double post of blazers. Because if anything's going to pull me out of hibernation, it's gonna be a good blazer.

This one I wore to office. I threw on the blazer at the last minute when I heard we might have visitors. Turns out the meeting was cancelled. Toink.

This one I wore to a fancy debut with a Parisian theme. I actually didn't follow the color scheme of gold, copper, nude, and black, as I don't own dresses of those color. But the ruffles kind of have a Parisian vibe right? And I just hid behind the blazer to tone down the brightness of the dress, which pops out amid the neutral gowns. Not to mention to combat against the freezing air conditioning. Win win.
